Bio-Experimentation:

Reduction of E. Coli with Moringa Oleifera 10/12/06

Pasted from <http://clearwater-aid.editme.com/biological>

Mark:

Same levels, no concurrent

Flocculation

E.coli still prevalent in the dishes and water

The goal was to see of the Moringa Seeds would deflocculate

  • Notes:
    • Increase Turbidity
    • Add more samples
    • Add SOIL
    • Figure Turbidity before experiment

ME Thickness Experiments:

  • 3/8 Thickness would just shatter
  • Graphical representation of thickness
  • Optimize the thickness for flow/per hour
  • Using the hydraulic conductivity (h) assumed by former team
  • Match with water safety levels and come up with an optimum section of thickness to match water safety standards overlay.
  • Fire up more….
  • Confirm/disconfirm SEM

Kali/Whitney:

  • Achiea: natural wood filter
  • Cats tails?: is there any available
  • Could a cylinder work?
    • Possibility
    • Increase Pressure head !

Diana:

  • Mineral that can eliminate almost 99% of bacteria (ie Silver)
  • Iron-Oxy-hydoxide
    • Geohitite
    • Can be layered in the filter
    • That charge would attract the bacteria and viruses
    • Mixing Cow manure in filter?
    • Another company:
      • Already made this filter, its just more expensive

G:

  • Lions Club Meeting
