LAB EXPERIENCE
  • Developed plan, requested quote, and tested a 3-φ transformer with team members working on Senior Design Project called Transformer Testing Station. Project is to test the sensitivity of inter-turn faults in a 3-φ transformer. More information for project can be found: http://seniordesign.engr.uidaho.edu/2006_2007/teamprotection/.
  • Synchronized and demonstrated operating characteristics of a synchronous generator. Performed short and open circuit tests on 3-φ transformer. Measured power in a 3-φ system.
  • Set up and observed signals and systems in MatLab.
  • Tested voltages and currents on circuits with DC machines using multimeters, ohmmeters, banks of resistors, capacitors, and inductors.
  • Programmed Rabbit 3000 microprocessor to perform simple functions.
  • Measured voltage and current in simple DC circuits using digital multimeters.
  • Calculated voltage and phase shifts in simple AC RLC circuits using analog and digital oscilloscopes.
  • Supplied voltage in circuits using function generators.
  • Built circuits with schematics and VHDL in Xilinx.

SKILLS

Project Management
Production director for the Appaloosa Horse Club
