“I
am in my fifth year at the University of Idaho and will be graduating in May
with my bachelor’s
degree in Mechanical Engineering. Over the past few years
I’ve had several
opportunities to practice engineering in the field. First, working in
glaciology on the Juneau Icefield during the summer of 2005. I spent
the next
two summers working at the Jet Propulsion, first designing a
thermal-vacuum
test setup and then working in the Mobility and Manipulation group
working in
robotic development.” |

"I am
currently in my senior at the University of Idaho;
I plan to graduate in May with my degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation I plan to
go to graduate
school. Before I
started at the University of Idaho
I spent 4 wonderful years in the Army as a radio repairman. The Army allowed me to see
the United States as well as exotic dry places
overseas. I have
had two great internships while in
school. My first
was at the Naval
Acoustic Research detachment in Bayview, Idaho where I performed calibrations
on hydrophones and
programmed FPGA’s. This
past summer I
went to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory where I worked with the Deep
Space Network
transmitter engineering group. I
am
excited to work on this project after seeing some end results this
summer. My
activities include snowboarding, baseball,
softball, football, boating, wakeboarding, motorcycles, golf, working
on my
truck, and pretty much anything outside." |

"I
was raised in the Ivory Coast in west Africa, went to high school in
Moscow, and then enrolled at the UI in mechanical
engineering. My hobbies are mountain biking, soccer, ship
modelling, and accidentally breaking stuff I try to fix." |

“I
am a senior at the University of Idaho
studying mechanical engineering. My
recent work experience includes two internships at the Idaho National
Laboratory (INL) where I performed uncertainty analyses for the
measurement
instrumentation of flow experiments, wrote programs for gathering,
monitoring,
and recording measurement data for the experiments using LabView and
designed a
hydraulically powered pipe line to test the flow dynamics of various
small
irradiated test capsules.” |

Michael Mahlum [Idaho Falls,
Idaho, senior studying
Electrical Engineering]
His studies
involve microcontrollers, communications,
and electronics. He is active with the 'Engineers without
Borders'
organization on campus and contributes to various sustainability
organizations. He spent summer 2007 as an engineering intern
with
Conagra Foods in Twin Falls, Idaho. Hobbies include outdoor
activities,
photography, and sports. |

Duff [Eagle, Idaho,
senior studying Mechanical Engineering]
"When I first heard about
this project
I was really excited because electronics and robotics have always
piqued my
interest. I have always wanted to make a difference in the world and I
believe
projects involving space exploration are the next step to
discovering what
we have available to us." |
