Problem Definition:
Potting Shed Creations produces garden in a bag in mass quantities using a production line. Currently their production line is entirely labor intense. The goal of this project is to design, fabricate, and test a soil portioner that will be integrated into their production line. The design must be safe, durable, efficient, operator-friendly, and non-labor intensive. The design will portion the desired amount of soil for the specific product line, and place the soil into packaging. Goals of this project are to automate the current proportion process by reducing labor and production time. We will also be making recommendations for another senior design team in a following year to design a soil compactor in continuation of our design. |
