Team Over-Bored

The purpose of this project is to develop and test a direct injection cylinder head for a 2-stroke snowmobile engine.

Team Over-Bored is sponsored by NIATT the National Institute of Advanced Transportation Technology and is mentored by Peter Britanyak. The design team consists of three seniors from the University of Idaho: Dylan Dixon (Mechanical Engineering,), Jared Denton (Mechanical Engineering), and Austin Welch (Mechanical Engineering). Our Project goal is to develop a direct injection 2-stroke cylinder head that adapts a E-Tec fuel injection system to a Rotax 800 cc engine. This design is important for improving fuel efficiencies of 2-stroke Snowmobiles to meet the 2012 emission standards set forth by EPA for recreational vehicles.
