Detailed Design
Detailed Design
At the beginning of this phase
• a design solution has been approved by client
• budget authority granted by client and instructor
• subsystems have been identified but not fully integrated
At the end of this phase
• subsystem sizing, configuration and interface design has been done
• all subsystems have been successfully integrated into a whole product
• a detailed cost estimate has been done including identification of vendors for purchased items
• a failure analysis of the product has been initiated
• a plan and schedule for fabrication has been done
• design documents have been produced for use in fabrication
• an operation and maintenance (O&M) manual with user interface considerations has been started
