The vacuum system was not working in the machine. The compressor that we were given did not
have the volume necessary to hold the wood to the table nor was there a plumbing system to get the air from the suction manifold to the shop-vac connection.
Upon last year's group's suggestion, we have decided to plumb the shop-vac system of our customer into the machine and then used solenoid valves to control the system from the control panel. We also installed a sacrificial wood strip at the start of the table to take most of the load so that the vacuum table only has to hold the wood from moving laterally.
