| Welcome to the home page for Harpers Drawer Cycle Tester Project. Take a look at what's new in our web. Project Goals:Design and build a device to cycle test drawers/slides for filing systems to meet BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer's Association) standardized tests methods. The tests to be included are the Rebound test, Out Stop test, Lock test, Interlock test, Drop test for Receding Door, Horizontal Receding Door test, Pull Force test, and the Extendible Member Cycle test. Problem Definition:Harpers Incorporated, located in Post Falls, Idaho, is an international case goods manufacturer. In order to remain competitive in the filing system market, Harpers uses the BIFMA standardized testing methods to establish a reference point upon which comparisons can be made between their own products and other competitors products These standards ensure that the filing cabinets manufactured will operate with little or no problems for a specified lifetime. Prior to sending a file cabinet to the certified testing center, Harpers desires to perform these tests in-house with their own piece of equipment.Matt Kundrat, Nathan Terry, Jenn Dawson, Keith Huber, Robert Fisher Back to Top |
