Team Inflators is developing a new airbag testing platform for Takata industries to measure the rate of work and total work produced by an airbag inflator in a car airbag system. Car airbag systems are safety devices in automobiles to decrease harm to occupants during a vehicle accident. Airbag systems were first implemented into commercial vehicles in the 1980's and are now in all vehicles. An effective airbag inflation system detects when a vehicle is in a crash that needs an airbag to deploy. Then an airbag quickly deploys to cushion the vehicle's occupant.
