CONVEYOR REQUIREMENTS
Electrical installation must be compliant with NEC 2005 standard, Article 430.
Conveyor must be connected to 480VAC 3-phase supply.
Upon pressing E-Stop switch, conveyor must immediately stop.
PLC interlock relay must be included in motor control circuit.
Must have start/stop push switches.
Must include main disconnect energy isolation during electrical service of equipment.
Electrical overload of one motor must shut down ALL motors.
WORKCELL REQUIREMENTS
System must consist of 2 workcells.
Cells must demonstrate the lean concept of SMED (Single Minute Exhange of Die).
Must be "pick-and-place" type devices.
Must be controlled by PLC (programmable logic controller).
Each cell must have a minimum of 2 degrees of freedom.
Must have 2 sets of attachments (end effectors): one for product A; one for product B.
Must include start/stop switch to activate and deactivate workcell of interest.
Upon pressing E-Stop switch, all workcell activity must halt.
Must include selector switch to activate workcell A or workcell B.
GENERAL CONSTRAINTS
Must make use of equipment provided (donated).  No major components will be purchased.
No adjustments of cell operation through PLC software by end user.
