The Diffuser

Design Description :

The Diffuser air intake system can easily be retro-fitted into the airbox of both the Polaris Fusion and Pro-X snowmobiles which the University of Idaho has used in past SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge events. Its application to the intake of the U of I's 600 cc GDI 2-stroke engine provides a solution for noise emanating from the intake of the 2-stroke engine design. Combined with further noise reduction efforts the Diffuser will facilitate the success of the U of I snowmobile in passing the SAE standard J192 with an overall noise level of less than 78 dbA.
