The purpose of this project is to design, build and test an accessible countdown pedestrian traffic signal using the concepts developed in the Lite Bright 2005/2006 senior design team. see The Lite Bright design page The updated equipment will be integrated into the Moscow ITS project that is currently in progress and targets the intersetcion of Deacon and 6th Street. (link) Two concurrent design efforts are required as part of this project. This will require close coordination with the Idaho Transportation Department and the City of Moscow. One design aspect will be to build the control network and associated smart pedestrian hardware. The second aspect will be to develop a test system to validate and verify the new smart pedestrian signal design.
