.: LSV2 Battery Charger Control
The Large Scale Vehicle 2 (LSV2),
CUTTHROAT, is a self propelled, fully autonomous research submarine
operated at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Acoustic Research
Detachment (ARD), located in Bayview Idaho. LSV2 displaces 200 tons, is
111 foot long, with a nominal hull diameter of 10 feet. Propulsion for
the LSV2 is provided by a 3000HP synchronous motor system, energized by
a dedicated main propulsion battery consisting of 1680, 2 volt, valve
regulated lead acid batteries.
