Idaho FHSAE 2011-2012

At the beginning of the 2010 season, Idaho made the switch to the Formula Hybrid competition. The vehicle was developed during 2011 and 2012. In May 2012, Idaho took a car to the Formula Hybrid competition for the first time. Also for the first time, Idaho finished in the top ten with an 8th place finish overall and a 6th place in the design event. Key features of Idaho's first Hybrid race-car include a custome YZ250f engine case with an incorporated electric start, planetary differential housing, and custom countershaft. The custom countershaft attached to a pulley assembly to input torque from a 46 hp electric motor into the powertrain pretransmission.
