I am currently a senior at the University of Idaho and I plan to graduate after the fall term of 2011. I am majoring in Biological and Agricultural Engineering under the Biological Systems Engineering option.  I am very invested my studies under this option and I compliment them with an interest in microbiology.  I hope to someday merge these two fields of interest in my professional career, possibly by working with bioremediation. My experience in this area comes from my work in the UI plant virology lab where I perform research on potato virus Y.  My interest and passion for environmentally friendly solutions to engineering opportunities led me to select this project for senior design.  Through this project I hope to achieve a better understanding of environmentally sound energy use practices.

I am a senior majoring in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Food and Bioprocess option, living in Moscow, ID.  I had chosen this major because am interested in renewable energy and sustainable agriculture and because I am concerned with the welfare of our planet.  However, because I am more passionate about food, personal wellness, and proper nutrition, I plan to pursue a graduate degree in Food Science, with a particular interest in food chemistry.  I am an opponent of relying on pharmaceuticals to solve health issues, I support alternative therapies of all sorts, and I despise the misinformation that is distributed by corporations in the interest of profits at the expense of the health of humanity.  But above all, my true passion is distance running.  I am a member of the University of Idaho track and cross country teams and hope to become a formidable marathoner in the future, with sights on the 2016 Olympic trials.

I am a senior at the University of Idaho planning to graduate in Spring of 2011. I plan on graduating with two B.S. in Environmental Engineering and Biological Systems Engineering, while also getting a minor in German. I originally chose these majors coming out of high school because of my interest in biology and mathematics, and now, as a senior, I can see how the two subjects intertwine. I hope to have a career in the environmental field that is very versatile so I can be involved in solving a variety of problems with soil, air, and water quality. I also hope to work for a company that is branched internationally in Germany, so I can utilize my language abilities for business and to be engrossed in different culture. Aside from University learning, I am becoming fascinated with a school of economics called Austrian economics. I believe learning this school of thought will be very beneficial for my future financial stability.
